Preparation
- Place the chicken breasts in a single layer in your slow cooker.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper evenly over the chicken.
- Pour hot sauce, honey, butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, and ketchup around the chicken.
Cooking
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to LOW for 4 hours.
- After 4 hours, remove the chicken and shred it using two forks.
- Toss the shredded chicken back into the flavorful sauce.
- Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and add to the pot.
- Simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Assembly
- Split the rolls in half and toast the insides if desired.
- Spread a little butter on the bottom half, add lettuce, then top with shredded chicken.
- Drizzle with Blue Cheese Sauce if using, and serve warm.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, consider marinating the chicken overnight. Adjust spice levels to your liking by using a milder hot sauce. Consider adding diced onions or pickles for extra crunch. If you don't have Blue Cheese Sauce, substitute with ranch dressing or another favorite sauce.
