Ingredients

For the quesadilla
  • 8 tortillas Soft and warm, these tortillas are the foundation of your quesadilla.
  • 1 lb ground beef Juicy and savory, the ground beef will be seasoned to perfection.
  • 1 bell pepper (diced) Adds freshness and crunch.
  • 1 onion (diced) Enhances the overall taste.
  • 4 oz cream cheese Binds the filling together.
  • 1 tsp salt Essential for a well-seasoned dish.
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder Adds depth and aroma.
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder Amplifies the onion flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp paprika Introduces a hint of smokiness.
  • to taste Cheese (I used provolone) Brings everything together with its rich flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook it until it’s browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks.
  2. Once the beef is halfway cooked, toss in the diced bell pepper and onion, along with the salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir everything together and cook until the vegetables are softened and fragrant.
  3. When the beef is fully cooked, add the cream cheese to the skillet. Allow it to melt and mix thoroughly with the meat and vegetables, creating a creamy filling.
  4. To assemble your quesadilla, lay a tortilla on a flat surface. Spread a layer of provolone cheese on one side, followed by a generous scoop of the beef and vegetable mixture, another layer of cheese, and top with another tortilla.
  5. Place the assembled quesadilla in a hot skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the quesadilla and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until both sides are perfectly crispy and the cheese is melty.
  6. Remove the quesadilla from the skillet and let it cool slightly. Cut into wedges and enjoy while hot.

Notes

Use leftover steak for an authentic flavor, or add sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick.
