Preparation
- Combine whiskey, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper in a large zip-top bag. Seal and shake to combine. Add steak tips and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours.
Cooking the Steak
- Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from marinade and pat dry with a paper towel. Drizzle olive oil in the skillet and add steak tips. Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
Making the Cream Sauce
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and diced onions, cooking for 4-5 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Sprinkle in paprika and smoked paprika. Slowly pour in heavy cream and beef broth, adding Worcestershire sauce. Allow to simmer for about 3-4 minutes until thickened and smooth.
- Return seared steak tips to the skillet, toss gently to coat in the creamy sauce, and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Serving
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve hot with crusty bread, over mashed potatoes, buttered egg noodles, or roasted potatoes.
Notes
For added flavor, let the steak marinate overnight for deeper flavor. Ensure skillet is hot before adding steak for proper sear. Add red pepper flakes for extra heat if desired.
