Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts These succulent pieces provide a juicy and tender texture once cooked.
  • 1.5 cups barbecue sauce Choose a homemade or store-bought option for best flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare your crock pot by placing the chicken breasts in the bottom.
  2. Drizzle 1 cup of barbecue sauce evenly over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
Cooking
  1. Cover the crock pot with its lid and cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours or on LOW for 6-8 hours.
  2. Once cooked, remove the chicken carefully using tongs or forks.
  3. Shred the chicken with two forks, ensuring it breaks apart easily.
  4. Add the remaining ½ cup of barbecue sauce to the shredded chicken and stir until combined.
Serving
  1. Serve the BBQ chicken on buns, over rice, or with coleslaw.

Notes

For deeper flavor, marinate the chicken overnight in barbecue sauce. You can add apple cider vinegar or sliced onions for additional flavor, and hot sauce for heat.
