Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 large large eggs Provide a creamy, rich base for the filling.
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise Opt for best quality brands like Hellman’s or Duke’s for optimal flavor.
  • 1.5 teaspoons cider vinegar Adds a tangy kick that beautifully balances the richness.
  • 1 teaspoon whole grain mustard Provides a mild spiciness and depth.
  • 0.25 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Enhances the umami flavor.
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt Essential for bringing out the flavors.
  • 0.125 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper Adds just the right amount of heat.
  • 0.125 teaspoon sugar A hint of sweetness to balance the savory ingredients.
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper For a subtle heat that enhances the dish.
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped mixed herbs Adds freshness and color; includes chives, parsley, dill, or tarragon.
  • 1 dash Paprika For garnishing, giving your Deviled Eggs a beautiful finish.

Method

Preparing the Eggs
  1. Start by placing the eggs in a medium saucepan. Fill with enough water to cover the eggs by about an inch. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
  2. Once boiled, remove the pan from heat, cover, and let the eggs sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Transfer the eggs into a bowl of cold water to cool.
  4. Once cooled, gently tap each egg on the counter to crack the shell and peel them under cold running water.
Making the Filling
  1. Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and place in a small bowl.
  2. Push the yolks through a mesh sieve into the bowl. Mash with mayonnaise, cider vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, sugar, cayenne pepper, and chopped herbs until smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  4. Fill a piping bag with the yolk mixture and pipe into egg white halves, or spoon in directly.
Garnishing
  1. Sprinkle filled eggs with paprika and additional chopped fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

For different flavors, consider adding pickle relish or diced pickles. You can substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt or mashed avocado for a healthier option.
