  • 1 oz packet dry ranch dressing mix Adds a creamy, herby note to the dish.
  • 1 oz packet dry au jus gravy mix Enhances the savory qualities of the dish.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Creates a luscious sauce that coats the chicken.
  • 5-6 pieces jarred pepperoncini peppers Adds tangy, slightly spicy flavor to balance richness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Place the boneless chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle both the ranch dressing mix and the au jus gravy mix generously over the top of the chicken.
  3. Place the stick of unsalted butter directly on top of the seasoned chicken.
  4. Add the jarred pepperoncini peppers on top.
Cooking
  1. Set your slow cooker to high heat for up to 4 hours or low heat for 6-8 hours.
  2. If cooking on high, check the chicken after 3 hours; it should fall apart easily.
  3. Use two forks to shred the chicken, then mix it well with the remaining juices and seasonings.
Serving

Notes

To enhance the flavor, consider adding sliced mushrooms or diced onions. For more heat, add extra pepperoncini or red pepper flakes. Serve with crusty bread to enjoy the sauce.
