Preparation
- Cook the ramen noodles in boiling water according to the package instructions. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the ramen water just before draining.
Making the Sauce
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter and sesame oil together. Add the minced garlic and cook gently for about two minutes without browning the garlic.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the reserved ramen water, soy sauce, and brown sugar until the sugar completely dissolves.
Combining Ingredients
- Return the skillet to the heat. Add the drained ramen noodles and cook for one more minute, stirring to coat the noodles with the sauce.
- Mix in the shallot ginger chili oil, and stir in the scallions and sesame seeds.
Serving
- Serve your Sesame Garlic Ramen Noodles hot, topped with extra scallions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding more garlic or a splash of chili oil. Vegetables like broccoli or bell peppers can be stirred in for added nutrition. To maximize protein, add eggs, shrimp, or tofu.
